Full disk encryption with SSH remote unlocking on Arch Linux

I’m using LUKS full disk encryption on my desktop, it is a very convenient and secure way to protect my data. It makes practically impossible to access your data without knowing the decryption key. Just insert your passphrase at boot and you are good to go. But what about encryption on an home server? It is not convenient at all to phisically insert a passphrase everytime you reboot your server. What if you haven’t physical access to your server and you need to unlock it because of a sudden reboot?

How and why I made an home server from an old laptop

Why There are many reasons, but the biggest of all are security and privacy. Everyone thinks cloud is a magical thing where you can freely put your data, images and documents, but cloud is just a fancy word to describe someone else computer. Those computers are servers owned by companies that don’t care about you, this make them the real owners of your data, meaning they can do what they want with it.
